According to Badri Okujava, a researcher at the Soviet Past Research Laboratory (Sovlab), he was attacked by Georgian Dream supporters while on his way to work: “They called some people,” “Then a car came, about five men from the car, I recognize all their faces – Georgian Dream voters”. The researcher was sprayed with paint sprayers, “They beat me, hit me – now my family might be watching, worrying – I’m fine, I don’t have much damage, but they painted me.”
“This is the face of Georgian Dream today, this is how they take people on the street and beat them,” says Badri in a video address recorded after the incident: “Tomorrow we all go out to march and on the 26th we all go to the elections and we end this violent regime that runs around in the streets and beats ordinary people like us.” Badri says an ambulance and police have been called: “Don’t worry, I’m fine. What’s most important is that the country be okay.”
