Archbishop Zenon Iarajuli of Dmanisi and Agarak-Tashir Diocese addresses the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia:
“Your Holiness, I address you, asking you to stand against the attempt to imprison the Georgian nation, against abolishing Georgia’s statehood, and against staging a constitutional coup. Declare your support for the head of the Georgian state, the legitimate President. Declare your support for the Georgian people. Stand against the centennial betrayal of the homeland.”
Today, tens of thousands of citizens are protesting in front of the Parliament against the decision announced at the briefing following the “Georgian Dream” political council meeting, to suspend Georgia’s EU integration: “Today we decided not to put the issue of opening negotiations with the EU on the agenda until the end of 2028” – Irakli Kobakhidze declared in the party office.
At the protest in front of the Parliament, water cannons and pepper spray have been used against citizens, and some citizens have been physically assaulted by the police.
