The citizens’ group “Daitsavi” (Defend), in collaboration with the diaspora group „1Mokalake1Archevani“ (1 Citizen 1 Vote), is launching a new initiative to help voters reach polling stations for the 2024 parliamentary elections. According to the press release, the initiative includes:
1. #გაგიყოლებ (I’ll drive you): Creating a network of volunteer drivers ready to take voters to polling stations. Volunteers will be reimbursed for fuel costs.
2. #გამიყოლე (Drive me): Free transportation service for voters.
The initiative is funded by citizen donations.
“Our goal is to ensure every citizen has the opportunity to participate in the elections,” “This initiative will strengthen the democratic process and ensure that transportation issues don’t become a barrier to voting,” said Koka Jakhutashvili, founder of the “Daitsavi” group.
“Daitsavi” encourages interested individuals to register as volunteer drivers or request transportation through the following links:
• Volunteer driver registration
